A mechanical tool safety lock on the gripper holder arm makes sure the tools are transferred safely during the changeover phase.

The CU could be also equipped with tool pocket store.
The tools pockets dial is based on a mechanical rotating table driven by a motor; the device allows the pockets wheel to rotate clockwise or anticlockwise to reduce tool search time.
The pockets wheel is prearranged to house up to 36 tools:
